Thomas Lees
Thomas Lees, 72 of 254 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, died on arrival at St. Mary’s Hospital after being stricken at home.
Born Oct 11, 1900 in Belfast, N. Ireland, he was the son of Thomas and Matilda Lees. He came to the United States at the age of 19, lived at Staten Island for some time and then moved to New Jersey. Mr. Lees lived in Amsterdam for many years and was employed by Mohasco for over 40 years, retiring in 1967. He was a member of the Emanuel Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his widow, the former Leona Canary, who he married Oct. 20, 1930; one daughter, Mrs. Rodney Reston, Amsterdam; three brothers, Norman Lees, Stanlley Lees and Iver Lees, all of Amsterdam; one sister, Mrs. Iris Damphier of Amsterdam RD 4; one grandchild, James T. Reston of Amsterdam and several nieces and nephews.
