EZRA VAN ALSTYNE
Friday evening, June 9, Mr. Ezra Van Alstyne passed away at his home after a serious illness of three months duration.
Born in the town of Bethlehem about 54 years ago he was the seventh and youngest son of William and Susan J. Long Van Alstyne.
Five of his brothers are still living, Andrew, Peter, William H., George and David, the sixth one, Lewis Van Alstyne having died a few months ago. Mr. Van Alstyne spent his life in the town of Bethlehem and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.
He was of a modest and retiring disposition, a good neighbor and friend, devoted to his home and family, by whom he will be sorely missed.
Beside his wife, who was Sarah M. Delong, a daughter, Miss Maude Van Alstyne and son Ernest of East Arlington, Vt., survive him as well as the five brothers and many other relatives.
Funeral services were held at his late home on Monday afternoon. Rev. Mr. Masel of Clarksville was the minister and Peter Applebee, funeral director.
Interment in Feura Bush cemetery.
