WIDOW OF ROBERT DANA DIES

Mrs. Clara McGrath Dana, widow of Robert Dana, passed away at the House of the Good Samaritan hospital, in Watertown, on July 2, 1951 after an illness of four years.
She was born in Henderson, on March 11, 1867 the daughter of Hiram and Mary Ann McGrath. She spent most of her younger life in Henderson and attended school there.
In 1886 she was married to Wilbur Nutting and to them was born one daughter, Mrs. George (Cora) Chrisman of Sandy Creek. Mr. Nutting died in 1889, and on October 25, 1893 she was married to Robert Dana of Ellisburg. Three daughters were born of this marriage. Mrs. Fred (Adelia) Stowell of Lacona, Mrs. Homer (Jessie) Sixberry of LaFargeville and Fannie Dana of Atlanta, Georgia. Also, there are two stepchildren, Mrs. David Loatwell and Harley Dana both of Lacona. Mrs. Dana had been a resident of Sandy Creek, for the past 57 years.
She was a former member of the Methodist church and the WCTU and was a Red Cross worker during World War II, making bandages for soldiers.
Services for Mrs. Dana were held In the Weston and Woodard Funeral home on Wednesday, July 3, with the Rev. Russell Bremer officiating. Burial took place in the Ellisburg cemetery.
