O.W. SIXBERY DIES AT 56
Oneida-Oscar W. Sixbery, 56, widely known in Oneida area as a hotel man, died unexpectedly Saturday of a heart attack in his quarters in Hotel Six, Durhamville, which he had operated for a number of years.
He complained of feeling sick Friday and retired early when stricken. He had worked in his garden Friday afternoon. Mr. Sixbery was born in Evans Mills, Jefferson County, a son of Moses and Louise Senico Sixbery.
Mr. Sixbery was a steward of the Moose Club, Oneida, for several years. He was an active member of the Durhamville Fire Department. He attended First Methodist Church, Oneida.
Eight years ago he took over management of the hotel upon the death of a brother, George. He was at the Moose Club for 10 years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Burgess; two daughters, Mrs. Carlton Dingman and Mrs. Donald Barlow, both of Oneida; a son, Leo, at home and a sister, Mrs. Ernest Evans, Liverpool.
Rites will be held in the hotel at 2 pm today, with burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneida.
