PATIENCE MARQUETTE WED TO DONALD J. OVEROCKER
Patience Alden Marquette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Marquette of Bradford, Mas., and Donald J. Overocker, son of George Overocer, president of the Poughkeepsie Trust company, were married Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at a quiet ceremony in the chapel at Columbia university with the Rev. Raymond C. Knox, university chaplain, officiating. Approximately 60 guests attended from this city, Boston, Montclair, and Elizabeth, NJ and New York City. Wedding marches were played by the university organist.
The bride who was given in marriage by her father, wore a wool traveling suit of blackberry color, with accessories to match, and a shoulder corsage of white roses and gardenias. Alice Overocker, sister of the bridegroom, who was maid of honor was attired in a dark brown wool suit with hat and accessories of brown, and wore a shoulder corsage of tea roses. Desmond Johnson of West Stockbridge, Mass., was best man, and John Davin of New York city, a classmate of the bridegroom at Rensselaer Polytechnic institute was usher.
After the ceremony a small reception was given and the couple departed for a wedding trip. They will live at 528 Riverside drive, New York city. Mr. Overocker, who is a member of the New York State bar, is a patent attorney associated with the Powers Calculation Machine division of Remington-Rand, Inc. in Brooklyn.
