MRS. WILLIAM J. STONE, 59, DIES (Feb 11, 1942)
Mrs. Myrtle Helmer Stone, 59, wife of William J. Stone, 707 Franklin street, died at 9:05 Wednesday night at the family home after an illness of four years. She had been confined to bed for the past four weeks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 at the home. Rev. Condit N. Eddy, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal church, will officiate. Burial will be made in Brookside cemetery.
Friends may call at the home at their convenience.
Mrs. Stone was born at Sandy Creek, Sept. 18, 1882, a daughter of Adelbert and Levina Boyd Helmer. She came here when she was about five years old and with the exception of about three years spent in Norwood, she had lived here since.
Mr. and Mrs. Stone were married May 30, 1899, at Smithville.
Mrs. Stone was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal church and of the Crowley Chapter, R.W. & O. Pioneers. Mr. Stone is a foreman at the local engine house of the New York Central railroad.
Surviving her, besides her husband, are four sons, George H., Massena; Willard J., Watertown Center, and Gerry K. and Lyle F., Watertown, and four grandchildren, Jeremiah Stone, Massena, and Peggy June, Kay Marie and William J. Stone, Watertown.
