VICINITY SOLDIER KILLED ON LEYTE ON JANUARY 15TH
TECH. 5-G ERNEST WICKHAM, 32, HAD BEEN IN SERVICE 3 YEARS; OVERSEAS FOR TEN MONTHS
Tech. (5g) Ernest Wickham, 32, husband of Mrs. Alice Grogan Wickham, Rensselaer was killed in action on Leyte, Jan. 15.
In service three years, he was assigned to the 302nd Combat Engineers and had been overseas 10 months.
Mrs. Wickham last saw her husband a year ago last Friday when he was home on furlough.
Technician Wickham, a former employee of the New York Central railroad is survived by a seven-month old daughter, Alice Elizabeth, whom he had never seen; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ovrille Wickham of Selkirk; three brothers, Harvey Wickham, of Ravena; and Harry Wickham, South Bethlehem, and two sisters, Mrs. Teresa Westervelt of South Bethlehem, and Mrs. William McMullens of Selkirk.
