SIXBEY, Bernice R., 90, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2000. Her husband, Carl Sixbey, preceded Mrs. Sixbey in death. Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Cook of Kansas and her children, Lisa and Mike Balkom of Roanoke, Alice Cook of Kansas and Carl and Kayl Cook of Kansas; son, Tom Sixbey and wife, Connie Sixbey of Roanoke and children, Steve and Christina Sixbey of Roanoke, Mark and Stephanie Sixbey of Rochester, N.Y. and Brian and Shan Sixbey of Gogginsville, Va. She has 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Salem at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2000. Family and friends will meet after the service in the church's Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kidney Foundation, Heart Foundation, Roanoke United Methodist Home or the First United Methodist Church
