HAROLD O. WATERMAN
Harold O. Waterman, 67, of Rt. 20, Madison, and 2934 E. Griffin View, Lady Lake, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 1994, at the Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg, Fla.
He was born Sept . 19, 1927 in Oriskany Falls, the son of Harold J. and Olive Clark Waterman. He was a life resident of Madison and a 1946 graduate of Madison Central School. He had spent the past seven winters in Lady Lake, Fla.
Waterman was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1946 to 1948.
He married the former Jean Sigsbee on August 20, 1949 in Madison. He was a heavy equipment operator with Local 545 Operating Engineers in Syracuse until his retirement in 1986.
From 1986 until 1990, he was a maintenance worker for the American Management Association in Hamilton. Mr. Waterman and his father had also owned their own trucking business in Madison at one time.
He was a member of the Madison United Methodist Church; the Madison American Legion Post #1556, Madison; and the National Woodcarvers Association.
Besides his wife Jean, he leaves one son, Norm Waterman of Stanton, Mich.; four daughters, Daine Popek of Kirkville, Deborah Cook of Liverpool, Claudia Caraher of Augusta and Wendy Relf of Madison; one brother, Donald Waterman of Madison; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 27 from the Burgess Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, with Rev. Alvin Mayo, pastor of the Madison United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Madison Village Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in his memory to the Madison United Methodist Church.
