MISS ESTHER PRATT WEDS HARLAN SIGSBEE
ALGONA-Miss Esther Pratt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Pratt of Algona became the bride of Harlan Sigsbee, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Sigsbee of Fort Dodge Thursday, at the home of the bride’s parents. The Rev. C.W. Pfeiffer, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating.
Lloyd Pratt, Clear Lake, brother of the bride, played nuptial music and Betty Jean Pratt, sister of the bride, sang. Mrs. Everett Rekers of Fairmont, Minn. Was the matron of honor and James Bishop, Algona, was best man.
A wedding dinner was served to 25 guests. After a short wedding trip they will be home on South Willians street. Mr. Sigsbee is employed by Laing and Muckey, local plumbers. Both graduated from the Algona High school and Mrs. Sigsbee also attended Iowa State college.

ESTHER SIGSBEE, WOMEN’S WRITER, DIES IN FLORIDA
Algona, Iowa (UPI)-Funeral services will be held here Saturday for women’s columnist Esther Grace Sigsbee, 49, of Sarasota, Fla.
Mrs. Sigsbee died Wednesday in Sarasota Memorial hospital two weeks after suffering a brain hemorrhage at her Sarasota home.
Mrs. Sigsbee was known for her features in women’s magazines and her sidely distributed newspaper column, “Women’s World”. In 1956 she won the National Editorial Assn. columnist award for “best column” in national open competition.
Mrs. Sigsbee, who wrote “Women’s World” under the byline “Grace” was doing feature writing for a Sarasota paper at the time of her death.
She moved to Sarasota four years ago from her childhood home of Algona, Iowa, where she originated and wrote for 20 years her “Women’s World” column for the Algona Upper Des Moines, a semi-weekly newspaper.
Mrs. Sigsbee is survived by her husband and three children, aged 17 to 23, tow brothers and two sisters.
