Overocker, William Sr. STILLWATER William F. "Billy" Overocker, Sr.

60, of North Hudson Avenue passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy surrounded by his lovng family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a son of the late Arthur and Mary Lesson Overocker and a lifelong resident of Stillwater graduating from Stillwater Central High School, class of 1965. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Thailand and Hawaii. He was a pitcher for the Army AA US Army Team. He was employed by the US Postal Service for 28 years retiring in 2004 from the Stillwater Post Office. Billy served on the Stillwater Central School Board of Education in the 1980's. He was a member of the American Legion, Earl J. Manning Post #490, also a Past Commander of the Valley Falls VFW Post 1938. He was also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Billy was also an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees. Survivors include his loving companion of 20 years, Carolyn Hostig; his son, William F. Overocker, Jr. (Marcia Soares) of Clifton Park; a daughter, Caitlin Overocker of Guilderland; brothers, Arthur (Jane) of Stillwater, twin brother, Robert (Linda) of Colonie; and his extended family Shannon (John)Vallee and Emily & Alex Vallee of Wilton, Kristy Hostig of Beverly, Mass., as well as his loving nieces, Marianna Denier, Stacy Johnson, Carrie Fiorini and several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Thomas & James Overocker. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 4 8 p.m. at the Dunn Funeral Homes, Inc., 121 North Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from Assumption St. Paul's William Street, Mechanicville. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery Stillwater. Memorial contributions may be made to Stillwater American Legion, Lake Street, Stillwater, NY 12170 or to the Valley Falls V. F. W. Post #1938, Valley Falls, NY 12185 or a charity of one's choice.
