STILLWATER -- Thomas G. Overocker, 51, of North Hudson Avenue in Stillwater, died at his residence Wednesday evening, September 18, 2002 with his family and friends by his side, after a short illness. Born on August 2, 1951 in Troy, N.Y., he was son of the late Arthur and Mary M. Lesson Overocker Sr. He was a graduate of Stillwater public schools, a communicant of St. Peter's Church in Stillwater, the Stillwater American Legion Post 490, an avid NASCAR fan and devoted Yankees fan. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1972 to 1975. Tom was employed by the Stillwater School System where he was a maintenance worker. He also worked for the Boston & Maine Railroad in Mechanicville. Survivors include his significant other, Teri (Theresa) Maiello of Stillwater; and four brothers, Arthur J. Overocker Jr. of Stillwater, James H. Overocker of Mechanicville, William F. Overocker of Stillwater and Robert F. Overocker of Niskayuna. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and godfather to several; and a cherished cat named Pumpkin or 'Baby Girl' to Tom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from St. Peter the Apostle Church, North Hudson Avenue, Stillwater with the Reverend William Turnbull, pastor, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Homes, Inc., 121 North Hudson, Stillwater from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 20. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Stillwater. Memorial contributions may be made to Capital District Cancer Resource Foundation, 1003 Loudon Road, PO Box 610, Latham, NY 12110 or the Stillwater Ambulance Fund, Box 584, Stillwater, NY 12170, in Tom's memory.
