James H. Overocker
MECHANICVILLE James H. Overocker, 65, of Meehan Road, Mechanicville, died Wednesday, April 3, 2006 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family following a long illness. Born in Troy, N.Y., January 24, 1941, son of the late Arthur J. and Mary Lesson Overocker, he was a graduate of Stillwater Public School. Following school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he served proudly from 1959 -1963, obtaining the rank of Cpl. He was retired from Bobrick in Ushers where he was a systems analyst. Mr. Overocker was a member of St. Peter's Church in Stillwater. He was a past commander of Post 1938 V.F.W. Valley Falls, N.Y., past commander of Post 490 American Legion, Stillwater and a current member of Post 91 American Legion, Mechanicville. Survivors include his dear friend, Marie Gleeson of Mechanicville; one son, James A. (Lauren) Overocker of Hemstreet Park; two daughters, Jamie (Andy) Ward of Saratoga Lake, Joanne (Punky) Overocker (Ray Zakrewski) of Stillwater; three brothers, Arthur J. (Jane) Overocker and William F. Overocker (Carolyn Hostig), all of Stillwater, Robert F. (Linda) Overocker of Colonie, N.Y.; grandchildren, Pvt. Charles E. Lane Jr., Casey Lynn Hogan, Catherine Cameron, Sebrina Ward, James H. Overocker. Also survived by two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother, Thomas Overocker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 8, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Peter's Church, North Hudson Avenue, Stillwater, N.Y. Relatives and friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Homes, Inc., 121 North Hudson Ave., Stillwater on Sunday, May 7 from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.
