Elizabeth B. Overacker, 85, of 519 Irish Ave., Chase Harrington Manor, former school teacher and widow of Dr. Douglas M. Overacker, died early Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Zimri (Diane) Bush, Breezy Knoll Trailer Court, Dexter, where Mrs. Overacker had resided for two weeks.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur, with the Rev. Kenneth Leamon, pastor of the shared ministry of the Antwerp and Spragueville United Methodist churches, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington St., Watertown.

Surviving besides her daughter are a son, Gary D., Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Bernice) Tucker, Chaumont, and Mrs. Peter (Velma) Farny, Pasadena, Calif.; a brother, E.D. "Bill" Bariteau, Los Angeles, Calif., and nieces and nephews.

Born on March 17, 1910, in Antwerp, a daughter of Ernest L. and Lona Fuller Bariteau, she graduated from Antwerp High School and Antwerp teachers' training class. In 1931, she graduated from Potsdam Normal School, and in 1932, from Albany State Teachers College.

She married Dr. Douglas M. Overacker on May 13, 1933, at her mother's home with the Rev. William C. Watson officiating. Dr. Overacker, a veterinarian and former director of the Jefferson County rabies program, died March 6, 1973.

Mrs. Overacker taught at a country school near Pine Camp, now Fort Drum.

She served on the Antwerp town and village boards for several years, was a 50-year member of Chapter 189, Order of the Eastern Star, Antwerp, and a member of Antwerp United Methodist Church.
