Raymond A. Hampele
Hampele, Raymond A. ROTTERDAM Raymond A. Hampele, 83, of Brentwood Lane, pas-sed away Wednesday March 26, 2008. Born in Schenectady, Raymond was the son of Jacob and Alice Gritzbach Hampele. From 1942-1946, he served our country in the Army Air Corps where he earned his aviation and sharpshooter badges. He then, for 35 years, worked at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady as an assembler retiring in 1984. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club. Raymond was also a member of the BPOE in Guilderland lodge # 2480. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Blaser Hampele, who he married on April 17, 1948; three daughters, Kathleen (Andy) LaValley of Voorheesville, Christine Carrington of Feura Bush and Cynthia Lotz of Fla.; two grandchildren, James Raymond Keller and Joann Frances Rapp. Raymond is also survived by several cousins. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Raymond's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205
