MECHANICVILLE -- Mrs. Ida Overocker Morby, 79, of River Road, Mechanicville, died Thursday evening at her residence, after a short illness. Born on May 2, 1921 in Mechanicville, daughter of the late Urias and Lisa Vanburen Overocker. She was a graduate of Mechanicville Public Schools. She was the wife of Raymond G. Morby, whom she married on December 14, 1974 and the late Abe Campbell. She was a secretary and bookkeeper for Sage Garage and Construction in Mechanicville, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church, Mechanicville and the Order of the Eastern Star Upton Chapter #679, Stillwater. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Randy and his wife, Carol Morby of Mechanicville; two daughters, Marylou and her husband, Dave Lovell of Delaware, OH and Raeleen Maynard of Salem, MA; two brothers, John Overocker of Valley Falls and Robert Overocker of Latham; and two sisters, Betty Gartner and Lillian Hubbell, both of Mechanicville. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Chelsea and Ian Morby, Debbie Fogle, Matthew and Barbara Lovell and Sam and Jacob Maynard; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Dunn Funeral Home, 319 Park Ave., Mechanicville, with the Reverend Jeffrey Wilkinson, pastor of the Emmanuel United Church, Mechanicville officiating. A gathering for friends and relatives will start at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stillwater Ambulance Fund, PO Box 584, Stillwater, NY 12170 or the Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, in her memory.
