HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. - Walter E. Sigsbey, 84, of Hermosa Beach, Calif., passed away Oct. 25, 2005.
He was born in Painsville, Ohio, on Aug. 18, 1921, to Harvey And Jenny (Wortman) Sigsbey Sr.
Walter was transferred to Traverse City from Great Lakes with the U.S. Navy. After the completion of service, he moved back to Traverse City for several years, employed at Cone Drive Gear. He then moved to California.
He is survived by sons, Walter Jr. and William (Maureen) Sigsbey; daughters, Susan (Douglas) Ratto, Marvyl (Gilbert) Brizeno, Marilee (Chris) Bewis; stepdaughter, Judy (Ted) Jones; several grandsons and granddaughters and a great-granddaughter, all living in California. He is also survived by his brother, Harvey (Beulah) Sigsbey Jr. of Traverse City; sister, Evelyn Davies of Ohio; sister-in-law, Beverly Sigsbey of Florida; and many nephews and nieces.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June; and a brother, Edwin.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, in Torrance, Calif.
