ALTAMONT Niles M. Laraway, 67, of Dunnsville Road died Thursday in St. Clare's Hopsital in Schenectady after a long illness.
Mr. Laraway was born in Huntersland in Berne and moved to Altamont in 1966.
He was employed as a chipper/grinder in the Large Steam Turbine Division by the General Electric Co., Schenectady, for more than 40 years. He retired in 1987.
Mr. Laraway was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Helen M. Laraway; three sons, Carver P. Laraway and Mark G. Laraway, both of Altamont, and Peter A. Laraway of Malta; a sister, Helen Proper of Berne; and three grandchildren.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Lucy's Catholic Church, Grand St., with burial in Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam.
Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont.
