Notes for Gerrit LANSING

Source: Obadiah Cooper (Tailor At Albany, NY From 1713-1742), His Wife, Cornelia Gardenier Cooper and their Descendants by M. Grace Wilmarth. Page 56
"The Lansing family (consisting of mother, three sons (Gerrit, Hendrick, and Johannes) and two daughters) arrived on the "Gelders Bloem" in 1655. There is no evidence that the father, Gerrit Frederickse Lansing, a burgher of Hasselt, near Zwoll, in Overyssel, Holland, whose estate was settled in that country ever lived in this country, but the mother and children spent the rest of their lives at Albany and vicinity and left many descendants, most of whom became prominent and influential."
