Notes for Bridget PALMER

Roger Barton of Westchester County, NY, and Some of His Earlier Descendants by George E. McCracken (NEHGS) page 292
In November 1692 (NYG&BR v43, page 281), Bridget Palmer was as yet unmarried, but it was very soon after this that she married Roger2 Barton, since by 1698 she had given birth to five children. She was the youngest daughter of John2 Palmer (William1) and his wife Bridget, the latter previously wife of Capt. Thomas Baxter but divorced from him at the time of her marriage to John Palmer, and she may have been a daughter of Capt. Robert Clark (see The American Genealogist, 26.102). John Palmer had been one of the justices who conducted the investigation of the riot of 16 July 1688.

ONLY ONE OF THE ABOVE TWO STATEMENTS CAN BE TRUE. EITHER ROGER AND BRIDGET WERE MARRIED AND HAD FIVE CHILDREN BY 1690 OR ALL THE THE CHILDREN WERE BORN AFTER 1692.
