Broadalbin, Sept 23-A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Canary on the Johnstown road yesterday afternoon at 1 o’clock, when their daughter Miss Jessie May Canary, became the bride of Asa H. Miller of Amsterdam. The pleasant rooms of the bride’s home were beautifully decorated in pink and white. The ceremony was performed before the bay window in the living room by the Rev. C.H. Merrill, pastor of the Baptist church.
The bride wore a gown of blue Canton crepe. She was attended by her sister, Miss Abbie Canary, while the best man was Benjamin H. Pooler, of Herkimer. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Clayton Canary, sister of the bridegroom.
Following the ceremony the couple received the congratulations of those present, after which a bountiful course dinner was served. Later in the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Miller left for a ten day’s wedding trip that Niagara Falls,and upon their return they will reside in Amsterdam, where the bridegroom is employed.
The bride received many beautiful and useful gifts of silver, cut glass, linen and money. Mrs. Miller is one of Broadalbin’s popular young women. She has taught will success in the rural schools for three years. Mr. Miller is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Miller of Perth.
Besides the immediate families, the only guests were Mrs. Alfred K. Dye of Gloversville, Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Codding of Perth and Mrs. P.M. Finch of this village.
