Obituaries
Mrs. M.M. Canary
Mrs. Mildred Masland Canary, 77, widow of Gilbert Canary, died Saturday night at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. She had made her home with Mrs. Norman Greenwood, her daughter, of Tribes Hill.
Born in Amsterdam Sept 5, 1895, daughter of William and Hannah Masland, Mrs. Canary was formerly employed by the Lurie’s Dept. Store as a clerk. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, the Art-Wel Chapter, OES, and the Amsterdam Memorial Hospital Women’s auxiliary.
Survivors besides Mrs. Greenwood include another daughter, Mrs. Gordon Volean of Amsterdam, a son, William of Chino, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. George Babcock of Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. Charles Howroyd of Poughkeepsie; six grandchildren; eight great -grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Deaths
Canary-Nov. 18, 1972, Mrs. GilbertCanary. Funeral tomorrow at the convenience of the family at the Funeral House of Johnson and Lindsay Inc., the Rev. George Rack officiating. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill.
Relatives and friends are invited to call today from 7 to 9 pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the 2nd Presbyterian Church.
