Mrs. Ella M. Canary
Mrs. Ella Miller Canary, 70, widow of James Canary, died Saturday night in the Amsterdam City Hospital where she had been a patient for seven weeks.
Mrs. Canary was born April 20, 1867, in Port Leyden, N.Y. She was married to James Canary on June 26, 1889, in Gloversville. She spent the greater part of her life in Broadalbin. She was an active member of the Broadalbin Baptist Church and Philathea Class.
Mrs. Canary was a devoted mother and a woman of many fine qualities, being held in high esteem by all who knew her and by whom her death will be regretted.
The survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Benjamin Pooler, Herkimer, and Mrs. Asa Miller, Tribes Hill; one son, Clayton Canary, who resides on the Johnstown road, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Stever & Trevett funeral home in Broadalbin. The Rev. Raymond Mills, pastor of the Broadalbin Baptist Church and the Rev. S. G. Parent, Tribes Hill, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Broadalbin Cemetery.
