Obituary
Mrs. James Canary.
Mrs. Margaret S. Canary, widow of James Canary, died at her home, No. 166 Spring street, Sunday morning at about 2:30 o’clock, after an illness lasting five weeks. The cause of death was angina pectoris. Mrs. Canary was 70 years of age, being born at West Day, Saratoga county, Nov. 12, 1843. For 42 years she had been a resident of Amsterdam,and was a well known and highly respected resident of the city.
The surviving relatives are two sons, William and Theodore; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Dersch, all of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Anable of Gloversville; Mrs. John Gullick, of Syracuse; Mrs. Erskin Arnold, of East Chatham; Mrs. Addison Palmer, of Northville; two brothers; A.D. Scribner of Stony Creek, and John Scribner of Fort Johnson.
The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the home, the Rev. Alvah E. Knapp, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. The remains will be taken to Ilion Wednesday, for interment in the cemetery in that place.
