DIES OF BLOOD POISON
John H. Sixbury, age 58 yearrs of 517 Davidson Street died about 1 this afternoon at the City hospital. Death was due to blood poison. Mr. Sixbury was an employee of the H. E. Tyler and was injured about Jan. 15, when he scratched his finger while breaking the seal of a freight car. He suffered no ill effects of the scratch which was very trivial.
The next day he was unloading meat from a car when suddenly his finger started to pain and began swelling. A few minutes later he was taken ill and was rushed to the City Hospital in an automobile. Later Dr. C.E. Pierce was called and amputated the finger. The poison spread rapidly through his entire body however and all parts were affected. His left leg started to swell and it was at first thought advisable to perform a second operation, but his condition did not permit.
Mr. Sixbury was the son of John and Barbara Sixbury and was a native of Evans Mills. He lived on a farm near that village until about six years ago when he moved to this city.
The body was removed to the Northern & Fox undertaking parlors in State Street. No arrangements for the funeral had been made at a late hour this afternoon.
