Having resided in Jefferson county for manv years and still being a frequent visitor there, 1 thought I would
drop a line in your "Centennial Mail Box.'"
My grandfather. Samuel Ray, settled on a farm near Evans Mills when tbe countrv was very new and my father wan born there in 1806. I was born in 1823 and was married to Mr. Sidney A. Sixbury of Evans Mills in 1850 Mr. Sixbury wss in tbe mercantile business there utill 1861 when we moved to Lowville. remaining in Lowville
till 1888. when we came to Washington, D. C. Mr. Sixburv was in real estate business here until his decease
in 1901.
I have one sister residing at Evans Mills. Mrs. Weslev Wilson, one sister who lives near Peekskill on the Hudson. 1 would be very glad indeed if we could all be together in your citv to celebrate "Old Home Week" as
there is certainly no place like home.
