Philadelphia, Sept 27--Unconscious for the last week as a result of a shock, Mrs. Jane Lyons, aged 78 years, widow of John Lyons, died at her home on Park street, this village, at 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
Up until a week ago Mrs Lyons had been in good health. On Friday. Sept 17. Mrs. Lyons walked upstairs to her room on the second floor, to prepare far a trip to Evans Mills to visit her brother. Charles Sixbury. She had been in the room only a short time when she suffered a stroke, and fell to the floor, unconscious. She never revived.
Mrs. Lyons was born on a farm in the town of Leray. June 14. 1848, daughter of the late Isaac and Susan Sixbury. She was married to John Lyons on Sept. 11. 1872. Her husband died March 31. 1916. In 1914 they moved to this village and took up their residence in Park street. Mrs. Lyons is survived by three daughters, Mrs. William Wilson, with whom she resided: Mrs. Charles Thompson, this village; and Mrs Clyde Cocagne. Evans Mills; one sister, Mrs. George Biche. who lives in the west; one brother, Charles Sixbury. Evans Mills; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the late home Sunday afternoon at 2. Rev. C. G. Upham. pastor of the Baptist church here, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. S. S. Maiott. interment will be made in the Evans Mills cemetery.
