LOUDONVILLE -- Virginia M. Burns, age 74 yrs., died Sunday, May 21, 2000 at her home, with her loving family. Mrs. Burns had lived in Loudonville for 50 years. In addition to being a full time mother, Mrs. Burns worked as a comptometer operator for A & P Food Market Office, Fuller Brush Company, Olsten Temporary Services and Janitronics. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department and the ladies auxiliary of Colonie Elks BPOE #2192. She was an original member and secretary of the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department Bowling League and was also a member of the Standard Bowling League. Beloved wife of 54 years to Owen F. Burns Jr.; mother of Thomas Burns and his wife, Helen of Rensselaer, John Burns and his wife, Peggy of Castleton, Linda Cooper and her husband, Will of Niskayuna, Patricia Prout and her husband, Tim of Halfmoon, Kathleen Wilhelm and her husband, Bruce of Colonie Village, Owen Burns III and his wife, Shelly of Loudonville and Virginia Lapinski and her husband, Gordan of Cherry Hill, NJ; grandmother to 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the recently deceased John N. Ernst and the late Nettie Ernst and stepdaughter of Bertha Ernst. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at St. John's Lutheran Church, 140 Maple Avenue, Altamont, NY (phone: 861-5745), Sunday, June 11, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Gravell officiating. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to Community Hospice of Albany County, 315 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
