Carrie A. Sixbey
Carrie A. SIXBEY, 81, Rt. 7, Rochester, died at her residence Saturday after a threeweek
illness.
She was born Oct. 16, 1898 in the Burton Community to Frank and Mary MILLISER
WALES and had lived her entire life in this area. She married Mark E. SIXBEY March 26, 1919.
He died Aug. 9, 1971. She was a member and past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star
322 at Kewanna and was a member and past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge 140 at Kewanna.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Donna) LEAVELL, Loganspot, and Mrs. C. J.
(Patsy) EVANS, Kewanna; three sons, Robert [SIXBEY], Rochester; Dr. M. D. SIXBEY, Chili,
and Joe [SIXBEY], of Caldwell, Idaho; eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Two
grandchildren and two brothers preceded in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home with the Rev.
Raymond PROBASCO officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call
from 2-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday. The Kewanna Order of
Eastern Star will conduct memorial services at 8 o’clock tonight. Memorials other than flowers
may be made to the American Heart Association.
