DEAD BODY OF FREEVILLE MAN FOUND ON LEHIGH TRACK
Moravia, June 6-A.W. Smith coroner late Monday afternoon rendered a verdict of accidental death in the case of Bert Overacker of Etna whose body was found at 7:30 o’clock in the morning lying in the middle of the Lehigh Valley Railroad tracks about three-quarters of a mile east of the village of Freeville
Both legs had been severed at the knees and there was a deep wound on the man’s head. No valuables of any sort were found on the body, except a $1 bill which was in the pocket of the shirt.
The body was identified by Sylvester Brown whose section gang picked it up and by R.H. Seamon, RFG carrier who knew Overacker well. The body was taken to the freight house at the Lehigh station in Freeville and Sheriff Mackey of Ithaa and A.W . Smith coroner of Newfield were notified.
Overacker lived at Freeville with his mother, Mrs. Julia Overacker. He was about 35 years of age. Besides his mother he leaves a sister, Mrs. Leroy McGillivray of Dusenbury Hollow. The funeral was held today.
