LIFE WENT OUT QUICK AS LIGHTNING FLASY
By telegraph came the tidings Wednesday of the sudden death of Mrs. Ida McNary Jacobs, wife of Homer Jacobs, whose home has been in Millersburg, Holmes county for last half dozen years or more. Heart disease was the cause of death. Her home was close to a grocery store, into which she went about eight o’clock in the morning, and while there dropped to the floor and died instantly.
For some time she had premonitory symptoms of heart trouble. A week ago the house in which they lived was struck by lightning, and the couch from which she had just risen, with other household furniture, was broken and much damaged by the electric fluid. Her escape from being killed ws so narrow that it produced much mental excitement, which aggravated the heart disturbance that brought such a tragic life ending Wednesday.
Mrs. Jacobs grew to womanhood in Coshocton, where nearly all her life was passed until the removal with her husband to Millersburg. She was universally known in this city, and much liked by all who knew her.
Through her girlhood years she was a general favorite in the social circles in which she moved. She wa of pleasant disposition, sprightly manners and that quickness and vivacity in thought and speech that made her a welcome guest wherever she went. In church attendance and Sunday school work she was active and faithful and by her genial manners and cheery way diffused sunshine in the home and whatever social circle she formed a part. There will be much sincere sorrow felt among all her many acquaintances in this city, over her untimely death.
The age of the deceased is well along toward thirty years. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac McNary, live on Orange street in this city, and only recently celebrated their golden wedding. Mrs. Jacobs is the first death to occur in the McNary family.
She is survived by two brothers, Charles and John; and four sisters, Mrs. Valentine Juhr, Mrs. Joseph Swigert, Miss Emma McNary and Miss Eva McNary.
