Mrs. Gaynor A. Overocker
Mrs. Gaynor A. Overocker, 82, of 1643 Holland Ave., wife of the late George F. Overocker, died Wednesday, December 31, 1980 at her home. She was born in Utica, daughter of John and Jennie Jones Brown. She attended Utica schools and married Mr. Overocker in 1923 in Utica. He died in 1950. Mrs. Overocker was a member of the Olivet Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Utica Chapter 452 Order of the Eastern Star and the New Century Club. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George (Marjorie) Barnes, Rochester; and five grandsons. She also leaves three sisters, Miss Grace Brown, Utica, Mrs. William (Mae) McSweeney, Rochester, and Mrs. J. Louis (Florence) Herbst, Utica; several nieces and one nephew. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Stevens, Friedel & Williams Funeral Home, Inc., Oxford Rd., New Hartford with the Rev. Arden W. Coe officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday. Friends may consider the Olivet Church Memorial Fund.
