MRS EDNA REES DIES
Richville-Mrs. Edna A. Overacker Rees, 73, widow of Thomas L. Rees, died Tuesday at 5:30 pm in the Brownsboro Hills nursing home, Louisville, KY.. where she had been a patient a week. She had been ill since June.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 pm at the Overacker homestead with Rev. Stanley E. Brown, pastor of the First Methodist church, Gouverneur, officiating. Burial will be in Wayside cemetery.
Friends may call at the Overacker home Friday afternoon and evening.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Samuel (Mabel) Williams, Camp Hill, PA, Miss Gertrude J. Overacker, Utica, and Mrs. Walter (Nellie)Best, Canton; and a brother, Lester D. Overacker, Richville.
Mrs. Rees was born in Richville Nov. 12, 1893, a daughter of Herbert W. and Alberta Dodds Overacker. She was graduated from Potsdam Normal school and taught at several schools, among them Richville and Newburgh.
She was married to Thomas L. Rees in October 1919 in the Congregational church of Richville.
Following her marriage, she attended the University of Kentucky law school and was graduated. The couple lived in Tulsa, Okla, Kansas City, MO, and for 40 years in Louisville, Ky., where Mr. Rees was a claims adjuster for Mastin Brothers company. He died Jan 31, 147.
For years Mrs. Rees had spent her summers at the Overacker homestead.
