The will itself did not survive and all that was saved were the filings by his wife, Nancy, and the guardianship appointment for the minor children.
On April 29, 1848, John McNary made his will. The petition of Nancy McNary, his wife, states that John McNary , late of the town of Union, in said county departed his life at his residence in said town on or about the 14th (could be the 17th) of May last. This document is dated March 2, 1849.
His will was written a month before his death. My original thought was that his death was accidental. It may have been, but his death wasn't instantaneous. He was about 35 years old at the time of his death.
