OBITUARY
GALEN D. OVEROCKER
Galen D. Overocker, a well-known resident of Arlington, dropped dead at his home on the Overocker Road, Thursday. Mr. Overocker had been in poor health for the past eighteen months. He was 73 years old, having been born on July 4, 1842, at Freedom Plains, a son of the late Daniel W. Overocker.
Mr. Overocker’s death is the second to occur in the family within a month, his sister, Miss Mary E. Overocker passing away three weeks ago.
The deceased moved to the Overocker Road in (looks like) 1868. In 1879, he formed a partnership with his brother, James P. Overocker, in the firm of Overocker Brothers, leather goods, but retired from active connection with the firm in 1894 and devoted his time to farming. His wife was Miss Mary T. Landon, of Noxon, NY
Mr. Overocker is survived by his brother, James P. Overocker, a son, Daniel W. Overocker and a daughter, Mary L. Overocker. The funeral services, which are in charge of Harry J. Selfridge will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock.
