The Last Will and Testament of Johannes Weatherwax, Schaghticoke,
Rensselaer Co., New York
In the name of God amen I Johannes Weatherwax of the town of Schaghticoke
in the County of Rensselaer and State of New York being weak in body but of sound & perfect
mind and memory for which --- a be the Supreme maker of all events and ------ The propriety of
making a distribution of my property both real and personal before my death do make & publish this my last will ---- ---- --------- -----
(that is to say)
FIRST I give devise to my two sons John Weatherwax & Bastian Weatherwax and their heirs and assigns my home farm which I now ---- -- containing eighty one acres ---- of laws being the north part of the land which my deed covers to be equally divided between them. My son John &
Bastian after my decease & the decease of my beloved wife (Hannah) but my son John Weatherwax is to Take ---- of the ---- farm after my decease, my beloved wife Hannah in Victuals & Clothing during her Life.
SECONDLY I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Weatherwax the sum of five
dollars to be paid by my executor after my decease.
THIRDLY I give and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah Overaker the sum of
seventy five dollars to be Paid by my executor after my decease.
FOURTHLY I give and bequeath to my daughter Jane Goeway wife of David
Goeway the sum of Seventy five dollars to be paid by my executor after my decease and decease of my wife.
FIFTHLY I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Sawer wife to Christopher Sawer the sum of seventy five dollars to be paid by my executor after my decease & decease of my wife.
SIXTHLY I give and bequeath to my grandchildren Rachel Weatherwax, John & Stephen Weatherwax heirs of my son Adam Weatherwax late of Schaghticoke the sum of seventy
five dollars to be equally divided between them to be paid by my executor after my decease & decease of my wife.
SEVENTHLY I give and bequeath to my three daughters Hannah Overacker wife to ?Mandell? Overacker, Jane Gowey wife to Daniel Gowey, Elizabeth Sawer wife to Christopher Sawer all the remainder of my Personal property to be equally divided between them after my decease and
the decease of my wife Hannah.
EIGHTHLY I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint my two sons John Weatherwax & Bastian
Weatherwax executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former wills by me made In
witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this third day of October 1814 signed sealed
published and declared as & for the last Will and Testament of the above Testator in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator & of each other.
