Notes for Nicolaus FINK
Nicholas did not come to America with his parents and their children in 1857. He arrived on the ship Laura on June 18, 1862 with Katherine and her family. According to Katherine's relayed story of their arrival, they went first to New York and then to Michigan.
Catherine and Nicholas moved to the Western part of Michigan and lived there for about 40 years, finally moving to Grand Rapids, Kent Co. where they lived until their deaths. They are both buried in the Alpine, now Holy Trinity Cemetery, Alpine, Kent Co., Michigan.
