A SAD ACCIDENT
Mary Fink, age 15 years, was killed by the accidental discharge of a revolver in the hands of her cousin, Charles Sitser, in Coeymans, Monday morning.
Mr. Sitser was cleaning the weapon and not aware that any of the chambers were loaded, and while turning the cylinder the hammer, which was self acting, came down and a report followed. He looked up to see Miss Fink, who was at work about the room, fall to the floor, the bullet having penetrated her brain causing instant death.
The coroner was notified and after viewing the remains empaneled a jury which will meet at the Pulver house on the 22nd inst.
This is another warning of the danger in handling firearms and shows too that if one must handle them they should get away by themselves where no innocent person will be made to suffer when and if they are “accidentally” discharged, none but the senseless idiot who handles it will be the victim and the community will be the better for his taking off.
