Notes for Mary Margaret MATTICE

EAST BERNE
Mrs. Mary Margaret Hotaling, wife of the late Nicholas Hotaling, died New Salem, at the residence of her sister, Mrs. John Hotaling, Sept 12th. Mr. And Mrs. Hotaling had lived for many years within three miles of East Berne. Seventeen weeks ago Mrs. H. went to New Salem to counsel with Dr. Becker, and while there was taken so ill that she never reached her earthly home again. She was a lady highly esteemed for her excellent Christian character. Her funeral at the Reformed church, New Salem, was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. Four children survive her, John H. Hotaling and Mrs. John Tygert, of Albany, Conrad Hotaling, of New Salem and Mrs. Newton Crounse, of East Berne.
