FUNERAL OF MRS. WEED CONDUCTED AT ONEONTA
Oneonta, Aug. 26-Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah A. Weed, 96, of South Side, one of the oldest residents in this vicinity, were held this afternoon at the Lewis Funeral Home. Rev. Richard R. Lloyd, First Baptist minister , officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
Oldest member of the First Baptist Church in years and length of membership, Mrs. Weed died Thursday morning after a brief illness. Most of her life had been spent in this vicinity.
She was born May 17, 1848, on Round Top, town of Davenport, a daughter of John and Mary Copeland. After the death of her first husband, John Sigsbee, she was married to Charles E. Weed, who is the only survivor.
