Funeral services for Eli Klingaman, 73, prominent member of the Scott IN community, were held at 2:00 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist Church at Scott. Rev. M.C. Morrow, church pastor, officiated and burial was made in the White Pigeon MI Cemetery. Mr. Klingaman's death occured after nine weeks of serious illness. The last seven weeks were spent in the Constantine MI Hospital where he passed away late Saturday evening. Eli G. Klingaman was born in Middlebury Township, Elkhart County, on February 11, 1868. He was the son of Henry and Eliza Gallop Klingaman. Later he moved with his parents to LaGrange County. On April 7, 1895, he was united in marriage to Lora E. Sixby at Scott. She, with a daughter Leta at home, and a son, Harlie of White Pigeon survives. Surviving also is a sister, Mrs. Josephine Davis of Indianapolis, and three grandchildren, Mrs. Cole M. Meese of Sturgis, and Robert and Joan Klingaman of White Pigeon, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. Since mis marriage Mr.Klingaman had lived in or near Scott with the exception of two and one-half years spent at White Pigeon. After farming a number of years he was employed 18 years by the Eddy Paper Corporation at White Pigeon.
