Reynolds Sixbee: J. Elderkin JElderkin@aol.com

justification for placing Reynolds Sixbee in the family of Ephraim & Rachel is as follows: Reynolds Sixbee is proven to have had a daughter Sarah whose married name was Sarah Horton. Census data proves that Sarah Horton and her husband lived in Mansfield, Pennsylvania. Family records prove that Meribah Sixbee Tyler had a daughter who went to Mansfield, Pennsylvania around 1900 to visit a cousin named Sarah Horton. A photograph of Sarah Horton (marked "Cousin Sarah Horton") as well as a photograph of a Mansfield, PA street around the turn of the century and a photograph of a young woman who was a neighbor of the Hortons (proven by census) are in the family photo collection. All other possible avenues of relationship on both sides of family have been thoroughly explored and ruled out--the only possible way that Elma Tyler Cady and Sarah Sixbee Horton could be cousins is if Reynolds Sixbee and Meribah Sixbee Tyler were brother and sister

Jan 11th - Sixbee, Mrs. Hannah, d. Bailey Creek 'this morning', age 71, paralysis, was dau. of Rufus Daggett of Daggetts Mills, mother of Mrs. Edward Horton of Mansfield; Mrs. Chas. Horton of South Creek; Mrs. E. A. LeBarrou [sic] of Mardin; F. L. Sixbee, Sullivan twp.; Mrs. Frank McConnell, Rutland twp.

From "Reuben Daggett of Daggett, Jackson Township, Tioga County, PA" at Joyce M. Tice's Sullivan-Rutland Genealogy Project website (http://rootsweb.com/~srgp/rdaggett.htm):
"...Hannah Daggett was born in Daggett, Jackson Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 21 Nov 1821. Hannah died 1893 at age 71. She married Reynolds Sixbee* 8 Mar 1841. Reynolds was born 1819 in Jefferson, Wisconsin.

(Additional notes for Reynolds Sixbee* (4)) Reynolds died 2 Oct 1895 at age 76. Reynolds settled in Bradford County in 1840. When Hannah and Reynolds married they settled in Rutland Township in unbroken forest. They erected a cabin and began farming. In those days wild animals were plentiful and it was common to go out and shoot a deer or two before breakfast. Their children had five tame deer for playmates, two old ones and three fawns. Reynolds had worked as an employee of Reuben Daggett in his mills. He also found employment at blacksmithing and lumbering as well as farming, and he taught school. Five of the seven children of Hannah and Reynolds lived to adulthood. Bessie Daggett of Daggett Pa was the source of much of Alice's information. Hannah died either on 11 Feb or 2 Nov 1893."
