Abstracted from John Sigsbey's will:
The witnesses were William H. Simmons and Florelle Wood.
The estate inventory included 80 acres of land and 30 acres of woodland.
Among the livestock were four milch cows, one cow and one steer, one
yearling and three calves; 24 old sheep and 18 lambs, and assorted other farm animals.
The children named in Lucy's probate file were:
Eliza Simmonds - Cedarville, Smith Co., KS
Carrie Peck - Algons, Kossuth Co., Iowa
Lillie Norton - Algons, Kossuth Co., Iowa
Louise Norton - Sun Prairie, Dane Co., WI
Bertie Sigsbey - Sun Prairie, Dane Co., WI
Wesley Sigsbey - Willoughby, Lake Co., OH
Alexander Sigsbey - Burt?, Kossuth Co., Iowa
William Sigsbey - Humboldt, Humboldt Co., Iowa
George Sigsbey - Lagrange, Lorain Co., OH
The year was 1893. Note that "John Westley" is consistently named as Wesley (no "t") in the probate records. Also, the name of the town "Algons" should probably be "Algona".
