To the Judge of Said Court
The petition of Rachel Sixby of Jefferson in said county, widow of Ephraim Sixby late of said Jefferson, deceased, represents that said Ephraim Sixby died on the 25th day of March A.D. 1850, intestate, leaving nine children, the youngest about fifteen years of age, and that said deceased left a very small amount of personal property and six acres of land with an ordinary log house on it, which said land was then worth about one and fifty dollars and that said deceased left about one hundred dollars debts, which your petitioner has after his decease paid off; and that no administration of the estate of said Ephraim has been had, and that your petitioner's children and also the children of deceased, are scattered in about every part of the United States, and she does not receive any income for said land to exceed taxes, repairs and other expenses of the same, and has never been repaid for the amount expended by her in payment of debts of deceased and is desirous of disposing of said land and prays that administration of said estate may be granted unto her and that your honor act as commissioner of said estate, and that appraisers be appointed in pursuance of the statute &c.
