J.A. SIGSBY, 66, CONTRACTOR, DIED
Saratoga Springs, April 12-Following an extended illness, J. Augustus Sigsbee, 68, a lifelong resident of this city, where he had been in the painting and contracting business for more than 40 years died early today at his home, 247 Nelson Avenue.
Mr. Sigsby had been confined to his home during much of the time of the last five years and repeated attacks of paralysis finally left him unable to use his voice.
Born in Saratoga Springs July 22, 1872, he was a member of Bethesda Episcopal church, Rising Sun Lodge 103, F. and A.M., Rising Sun Chapter 131, RAM, and Washington Commandery, 33 Knights Templar.
Surviving are his wife, Lou C. McIntosh Sigsby, four sons, John E., of Verona, N.J.; Robert E., of White Plains; W. Gordon and J. Augustus Sigsby jr. of Saratoga Springs; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Charles Wilber, Mrs. Garrett W. Smith, Mrs. Harry V. Ades and Mrs. Richard J. Sherman, all of Saratoga Springs, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the home. Rev. Irving G. Rouillard, Bethesda rector, will officiate and burial will be in Greenridge cemetery.
