DEATH OF MRS. ROSE JOSLYN
Mrs. Rose Joslyn was born in the town of Savannah nearly 60 years ago, on the 14th of January, 1859, and died at the home of her daughter, Mr. Clarence Dutcher of Seneca Falls on Wednesday of this week, after a short illness of spinal trouble. She was the daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Sigsby former residents of this town.
Mrs. Joslyn was a woman possessing many fine traits of character. She was a very active member of the local Congregational church and a devoted Christian woman. Until her removal from here, some six months ago, she was closely identified with all activities of that church. She was the mother of a large family of children and reared them in a becoming manner. Mrs. Joslyn was a kind neighbor, a devoted mother and a useful, hard-working woman. Her death will be deeply mourned by her many Savannah friends and acquaintances, all of whom know that no woman ever lived to be better than the subject of this sketch.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Dutcher of Seneca Falls, Mrs. A. J. Reed of Rochester; three sons, George of Youngstown, Ohio, Arthur of Rochester and Jay, who is with the Americanfrces in France.
Funeral services will be held from the Dutcher home in Seneca Falls Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be made in Evans’ cemetery.
