Adam W. Smith, of Amenia, the well known drover and stock dealer, died suddenly last Friday morning in the P.E. & Railroad station at Poughkeepsie. He had spent the night in Poughkeepsie and was in usual health when he arrived at the station to take the 10:50 train, but died in a few minutes. Most of his life he was a resident of Albany, and served two terms as member of assembly. He came to Dutchess County some fifteen years ago, and two or three years since purchased the Kirby farm at Amenia where he has since made his home. He married a sister of Admiral Sigsby of the U.S. Navy, who survives with three children, A. W. Smith, Jr., of Amenia, and two daughters who live with their mother at Bayside, L.I.
