Notes for John DeWitt SIXBEY
Utica Morning Herald, April 12, 1880
John D. Sigsby was killed by inhaling flame and smoke in his room in a hotel at
Shaun Hill, Sunday. His bed probably caught fire from a candle, and it is said he
was partly drunk. He was at one time principal of the school in Cobleskill, and was
somewhat well known in the section.
