1925 Feb. 22 Sigsbee, Dewitt - Age 60 - Found dead at 8:40 a.m., in his store, 1462 Lake St., assaulted and choked to death. The motive apparently was robbery. On 3/2725 Coroner’s Verdict: “By unknown persons.” On 5/13/25 John Sharp and Frankie Burke (colored woman) were arrested and indicted. On 6/24/25 Paul Turner and Godfrey Markey were arrested and on 6/27/25 the cases were Nolle Prossed by Judge Zetzer. 19th Dist. - Markey and Turner also indicted June 1925. G.J. 11/13/25 - Turner Nolle Prossed - Kavanaugh. 11/28/25 - Markey and Sharp to Joliet Pen. 14 years each - Kanavaugh
