B. SIGSBEE, a pioneer of Adams County, died last evening at the home of his son in Galesburg. He had born ailing for some time and had three weeks ago suffered a light stroke of paralysis. He was recovering nicely when last Thursday he suffered a second stroke. He had been unconscious since and grew steadily weaker until death came last night.
Mr. SIGSBEE was born near Albany, N. Y. and was nearly 88 years of age. He came to Adams County before the war and resided on a farm in Ellington township for many years. Twelve years ago he retired and moved to Quincy, making his home on North Eighth Street until three years ago, when his wife died. After the death of his wife he moved to Galesburg to make his home his only son, Addison A. SIGSBEE. Besides this son he leaves two grandchildren, Ray SIGSBEE of Carrollton, Minn., and Mrs. J. M. DUNLAP of this city. The remains will be brought to Quincy and the funeral will be held from the home of Mrs. DUNLAP. Mr. SIGSBEE was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in this city.
